Regional EHS Manager
This position oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs across multiple sites in
Brazil and Argentina,
providing technical and tactical support with the goal of being “best in class” in the introduction and effectiveness of Tenneco EH&S strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Alignment across all plants of the actions required to achieve zero incidents.
Ensure all required reporting is updated and accurate in a timely manner
Tracking and follow up across all plants to ensure introduction timelines are met and actions closed
Identify and correct knowledge gaps within plant teams
Facilitate and “read across” of lessons learnt and follow up on the effectiveness at a plant level
Develop, implement, and maintain regional EHS policies, procedures, and programs aligned with corporate standards and Brazilian regulations
Ensure compliance with relevant Brazilian and local EHS laws, including Regulatory Norm (NR) standards, environmental regulations, and labor health and safety laws
Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions with the plant team
Support the plant thorough incident investigations, root cause analyses, and reporting to prevent recurrence
Deliver EHS training and awareness programs specially made to local workforce needs
Minimum Requirements
Education
Four (4) year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent; Relevant advanced degree preferred
Experience
7+ years of experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program management and employee training.
Required skills
Must have clear communication and writing skills in English.
Proficiency to convey information at multiple levels of the organization
Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time with up to 75% travel to designated areas.
Strong team-building skills
Strong organizational skills including ability to manage large number of disparate projects and to track projects through completion
Working knowledge of cross-functional EHS disciplines
Professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent).
Proficiency in local languages preferred
