Overview
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all tax related decisions and activities in the organization. You will help us stay tax-compliant and up-to-date on new tax laws.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the company's overall tax planning strategy to optimize tax efficiency and minimize the organization's tax liabilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of the company's operations, transactions, and financial data to identify opportunities for tax savings and planning
- Stay up-to-date on the latest changes in Brazilian tax laws, regulations, and incentives, and evaluate their impact on the business. When necessary, study laws, ordinances and regulations in addition to learning from related areas (Tax and Legal)
- Collaborate closely with the accounting, finance, and legal teams to align tax planning with the company's broader business objectives
- Prepare detailed tax planning recommendations and proposals, presenting them to senior leadership for approval
- Coordinate the implementation of approved tax planning strategies, ensuring proper documentation and execution
- Maintain constant communication with leadership and impacted areas to ensure engagement and alignment
- Coordinate with external advisors on various indirect tax issues, e.g. obtain tax advice as necessary and support team members with accurate and timely indirect tax reporting and tax payment
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of cross-functional teams
What the role involves
The purpose of the role is to act as a business partner to the Finance teams to establish best in class accounting processes in the Shared Service Center (SSC) / Region. The person in this role leads Finance Accounting projects and tool implementations and acts as the link between global, regional and local markets, ensuring adherence to global standards while keeping local requirements in mind.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance or Accounting plus specialization in Tax are requiredFluent Portuguese and English are required. Spanish is a plus.Tax experience in a multinational environment, with a background in Big 4 / Top law firm / major corporation experienceIn-house experience is a plus with a significant amount of time providing technical guidance in commercial companiesExperience liaising with tax authorities including responding to audits and information requestsExcellent analytical skills to build dashboards from unstructured data and extract insights helpful for the teamExcellent communication and problem-solving skills with clear logical thinkingSelf-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to identify, define and scope challenges and opportunities, taking full ownership of tasks and dealing with ambiguityProject management expertise, including strong organizational and change management skillsExperience with tax setup in systems, SAP & Guepardo are a plusWhy should apply?
