Senior Software Engineer

We\'re seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our mission of revolutionizing payments for service-based companies by building the robust, scalable infrastructure that powers our accounts receivable automation platform.

In this role, you\'ll architect and develop core backend services, design event-driven data pipelines, and ensure the reliability and performance of systems that process critical financial transactions for our clients.Working closely with Product and Operations teams, you\'ll leverage your expertise in Go (or other similar language) and distributed systems to deliver high-quality features rapidly while maintaining the transparency, dependability, and partnership values that define Alternative Payments.This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on how businesses manage their payment processes, contributing to a platform that reduces costs and complexity for companies while working alongside a global, diverse and collaborative team.What You'll DoBuild backend servicesDevelop and maintain core services that handle data processing, transformations, and business logic.Design event-driven pipelinesCraft idempotent, queue-based workflows (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.) to process messages without duplication.Write clean, maintainable codeAuthor services in Go (or a similar language) and SQL (Postgres or equivalent), following clear coding standards and review practices.Drive quality & reliabilityImplement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; instrument metrics (throughput, latency, error rates) and alerts; rapidly diagnose and resolve issues.Collaborate & iteratePartner with Product and Operations to deliver features quickly; pair with teammates to share knowledge and continuously refine our tooling and processes.What You'll BringExperience : 4–7 years in professional software development, with mid- or senior-level responsibilitiesTechnical Skills : Strong in Go (or comparable backend language) and SQL (Postgres or equivalent)Comfortable with event buses / queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)Solid testing discipline : unit, integration and end-to-endFamiliarity with Git workflows, code reviews and CI / CD pipelinesMindset : Quick learner who thrives in a fast-moving environmentDetail-oriented problem solver, especially around data consistencyClear communicator and collaborative team playerNice-to-HavesPrior work on payment platforms or financial / data reconciliationHands-on experience integrating with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Netsuite or similar APIsUnderstanding of accounting principles (e.g. double-entry)Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana)Basic compliance / security exposure (encryption, audit trails)What we offerCompetitive salary : the typical compensation range for this role is 72k - 90k USD / year.

Individual pay is determined by factors including relevant skills, experience, education & training.Equity shares (we just raised a Series A!).
