Focusing on lower completions, this position will plan, design, and execute lower completion and gravel pack operations, provide offshore technical supervision, coordinate with wells, subsurface, and operations teams, and ensure proper well closeout and reporting.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and present well design concepts based on information provided by Subsurface team
- Assist with the preparation of cost estimates used to generate yearly Budgets and well / project specific AFE's
- Forecast and accountable for the timely ordering of well / project specific Long Lead requirements
- Contribute towards logistical coordination & quality assurance of services, materials, equipment and personnel
- Integrate with fellow drilling, completion / testing, subsea and / or subsurface team members as required
- Perform special studies / duties if / as required including conducting service quality meetings
- Ensure Vendor service deficiencies are correctly and timely captured via the Company non-conformance reporting (NCR) process so as to ensure timely action / close out
- Support NCR and root cause failure analysis as required
- Contributor to the development, management and updating of the Drilling Management System (DMS)
- Ensure the DMS is followed during well planning, design, engineering, and execution and closeout activities
- Ensure compliance with Company and Drilling & Completion policies, standards and approved procedures
- Ensure compliance of Vendor supplied materials, equipment and services which includes review of design, pre-assembly verification, pre-installation testing and equipment documentation
- Support the preparation of HSE documents if / where required
- Contribute and participate in the hazard identification process
- Contribute and participate in well / project specific risk assessments and pre-job planning meetings
- Assist with the evaluation of rig and 3rd party services for hazards, well integrity and assurance
- Support Drilling Management if requested in ER roles and incident investigations
Well / Project Specific Duties :
Design Reservoir Lower Completion for producer and injector wells across different assets within the companyPerform Torque & Drag analysis for deploying lower completions in long horizontal wells. Specify landing string and evaluate the requirement for swiveling devicesProvide engineering support as part of the wells team which includes lower completion sizing and design, GP pumping schedule, costing and assisting with operation execution, as well as the services associated with these activitiesEstablish well / project life cycle functional and operational requirements, including material & equipment selectionIdentify special Engineering Studies to be performedPrepare well / project specific technical notes if / when requiredPrepare detailed scopes of work for tender documents, perform vendor capability assessments, evaluate tenders methodically and capable of presenting a succinct recommendationRaise Requisitions & Purchase OrdersEnsure compliance of Vendor supplied goods, materials, equipment and services which includes but is not limited to review of design, manufacturing processes, quality plans, post-manufacturing testing / verification, site receipt acceptance, pre-assembly verification, pre-installation testing and equipment documentationReview all applicable operating, installing & testing procedures, including interface documentsContribute and participate in DWOP / CWOP as part of well / project commencementAssist with preparation of Management of Change (MOC) documents and conducting a risk assessment for those changes with relevant partiesReview field tickets and / or well invoicesReview the engineering focussed After Action Review (AAR) report and apply lessons learntResponsible for compilation of End of well Reports (EOWRs)Requirements
Education :
Degree qualification in EngineeringWell Control certification (IWCF) - Subsea / Surface Supervisor is considered an advantageExperience
Experience in Lower Completion and GP Pumping engineeringExperience with lower completion and sand control designs and executionExperience with Alternate Path GP pumping technology is considered an advantageKnowledge of appropriate and relevant well engineering tools (e.g. Landmark Suite (or similar) – Wellplan, Stresscheck, Compass, etc), and software packagesKnowledge of GP pumping software PackPro or similar
