About the role

We're looking for a Tech Lead to join the Winona Engineering team.

As a Tech Lead, you'll be a trusted advisor and own the entire technical lifecycle for assigned projects.

You'll apply your broad range of specialized skills to tackle complex challenges and foster collaboration across the team.

Responsibilities

Provide technical direction and leadership for a single team, making key decisions regarding architecture, frameworks, and tools.

Offer mentorship and support to engineers through regular one-on-one meetings.

Elevate issues to Engineering Manager and HR when needed.

Promote a healthy, safe, and collaborative work environment.

Collaborate closely with engineers on daily coding and implementation.

Ensure code quality via rigorous review, pair programming, and best practices.

Work with product managers and designers to translate business requirements into scalable technical specifications.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues during development and deployment.

Develop and implement a comprehensive technical strategy aligned with product vision and business goals.

Make trade-offs between speed, scalability, and technical complexity when shaping product decisions.

Lead the technical team in architecture, design, and delivery of high-quality scalable software solutions.

Advocate industry best practices, ensuring consistent coding standards.

Identify and implement innovative technical solutions to address complex functionalities.

Decompose complex challenges into clear, actionable tasks and prioritize effectively.

Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor team members to support technical growth.

Foster a supportive team environment, encouraging open communication and peer learning.

Resolve technical conflicts or bottlenecks proactively.

Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to our processes.

Qualifications

6+ years of software development experience, including 1–2 years in a technical lead or equivalent role.

Mastery of relevant programming languages, frameworks, and development tools.

Strong experience with Contentful, Webflow, WordPress, ReactJS, JavaScript, AWS, PostgreSQL, and Nuxt.js.

Deep understanding of system architecture, design patterns, and best practices.

Expertise in agile development methodologies and project management tools.

Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple concurrent projects.

Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Strong leadership, mentorship, and task-delegation capabilities.

Adaptability to evolving technologies and industry trends.

Experience driving process improvement and change within a team or organization.
