A leading global research organisation based in Durban is seeking to appoint both a Senior Statistician and a Statistician to join their dynamic team at the Doris Duke Medical Research Institute (DDMRI) . These are 2-year fixed-term contract roles, offering the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge HIV and TB research conducted across KwaZulu-Natal.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide statistical support and methodological guidance for clinical trials and observational studies
- Contribute to protocol and grant development with input on study design, sample size, and analysis plans
- Perform statistical analyses using SAS, R, STATA, or other relevant tools
- Interpret and document findings in a clear, reproducible format
- Write statistical analysis plans, results summaries, and contribute to publications
- Analyse clinical trial and longitudinal data, including de-identified routine health records
- Prepare monthly, routine, and ad hoc statistical reports
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary research teams and present statistical concepts to non-statisticians
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A Master\'s or Honours degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related quantitative fieldAt least 4 years’ experience in statistical analysis within a research environmentProficiency in one or more statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, R, STATA)Basic understanding of clinical research and epidemiologyExperience working with clinical trial data or longitudinal studies (advantageous)High level of computer literacy, especially in MS Word, Outlook, and advanced ExcelStrong organisational and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and within a collaborative teamReady to use your statistical skills to drive meaningful change in public health?
