Job Purpose :
The Cloud Engineer with Data Platforms Experience will be responsible for building and maintaining cloud infrastructure and applications that primarily interface with data platforms, as well as building and maintaining Python-based applications that may or may not be deployed in the cloud. This role will ensure that our cloud environments and data-centric applications are built, configured, optimized, and adopted to meet evolving needs. The Cloud Engineer will own infrastructure requirements, configuration standards, performance optimization, and cross-team coordination related to cloud and data platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Cloud Infrastructure and Data Platforms
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure that supports data platforms.
- Implement and manage cloud-based data platforms such as BigQuery / Redshift, GCS / S3, etc.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform / CloudFormation.
- Implement and manage cloud-based CI / CD workflows for infrastructure and data platform deployments.
- Monitor and optimize cloud resource performance and cost.
- Ensure data quality checks for source, integration, and reporting layers; escalate defects with clear reproduction steps and impact.
Python Application Development
Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications, both cloud-deployed and on-premises.Utilize Python libraries such as Flask for application development.Implement and manage CI / CD workflows for Python applications.Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications with cloud and data platforms.Collaboration and Communication
Serve as a primary liaison among business leads, product managers, and data / engineering teams.Facilitate demos, knowledge-sharing sessions, and best-practice documentation for data solutions.Promote adoption of new data capabilities and practices; gather feedback for continuous improvement.Release and Change Management
Coordinate release plans, timelines, and stakeholder readiness for data model and SQL deployments.Ensure training, job aids, and rollout communications are prepared and delivered for data solutions.Track post-release issues, adoption, and stabilization metrics related to data platforms.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
