The Development (Fundraiser) Officer will be responsible for mapping and applying for the possible grants and sponsorships from government laws, planning, organizing, and executing fundraising initiatives to support the mission and strategic goals of EARJ. This role requires a strong communicator with experience in data keeping and administration as well as event planning. The Officer will also work closely with the school leadership to implement effective development campaigns, foster a culture of giving, and increase community engagement.
Responsibilities :
- Fundraising Strategy : Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive annual fundraising plan to meet the school’s financial and development goals.
- Campaigns & Events : Organize and coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives, such as capital campaigns, online giving drives, auction evenings, and alumni engagement events.
- Donor Relations : Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential and current donors, sponsors, and partners. Develop and implement donor recognition programs.
- Research, identify, and apply for grants and sponsorship opportunities that align with the school’s mission (Ex : “Lei de incentivo ao esporte”).
- Alumni Engagement : Work with alumni to foster lifelong connections to the school and to encourage giving.
- Marketing & Communications : Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising content, including newsletters, social media posts, and donor appeals.
- Reporting & Data Management : Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities, donor contributions, and financial reports. Provide regular updates on fundraising progress to leadership.
- Budget Management : Track and manage the fundraising budget, ensuring cost-effective planning and execution of events and initiatives.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field.English fluency is essential for this position, as communication with international stakeholders will be a core part of the role.Between 1 and 3 years of experience.Best to have experience in fundraising, development, or a similar role, preferably in an educational or nonprofit environment. Ideally this person would understand the Brazilian Government bureaucracy regarding “Leis de incentivo”
