Cloud Engineer

OverviewWe are searching for an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in cloud database architectures to join our team.

In this position, you will be tasked with ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of cloud-based solutions within critical production environments.

You will work collaboratively across teams to design and implement innovative cloud solutions.ResponsibilitiesArchitect, implement, and manage reliable and optimized cloud databases using systems like Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, and Azure SQL DatabaseCollaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver scalable and secure solutionsImprove database performance by optimizing SQL queries, PLSQL processes, and Bash scriptsDiagnose and resolve issues related to performance and availability in complex production systemsOversee security and access management using tools such as Vault and BeyondTrust while monitoring systems with platforms like Datadog and CloudWatchAutomate infrastructure and workflows using Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, and GitLabRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related disciplineAt least 2 years of experience in cloud engineering rolesIn-depth knowledge of Amazon RDS, including configuration and optimization techniquesPractical experience managing DynamoDB for non-relational databasesProficiency in ElastiCache for enhancing performance and caching solutionsExperience with Azure SQL Database for managing scalable relational databases in the cloudAdvanced expertise in database design, modeling, query optimization, and scalability best practicesFamiliarity with monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Datadog to ensure system reliabilityStrong experience in automating infrastructure using tools such as Terraform and AnsibleSkilled in using task management and tracking tools like JiraProven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teamsFluent English communication skills, written and spoken, at a B2 level or higherNice to haveExperience working with additional database engines and cloud services beyond the listed toolsKnowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and KubernetesUnderstanding of advanced security practices for cloud-based systemsCertifications in AWS, Azure, or other cloud platformsWe offerInternational projects with top brandsWork with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peersEmployee financial programsPaid time off and sick leaveUpskilling, reskilling and certification coursesUnlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ coursesGlobal career opportunitiesVolunteer and community involvement opportunitiesEPAM Employee GroupsAward-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedInSeniority levelAssociateEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionEngineering, Information Technology, and Business DevelopmentIndustriesSoftware Development, IT Services and IT Consulting, and Financial Services
