Location : Remote (New Zealand time zone)

Type : Contractor / Full-Time

Hours : Flexible, with at least 2–3 hours of overlap with NZT (6–10 PM BRT)

About the Role

We’re supporting one of our international clients on a project that combines green field projects with generative AI. We’re looking for an experienced full stack engineer to help develop autonomous agents that analyse, recommend, and implement real-time improvements. This role is perfect for someone with at least 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer who, in recent years, has been diving deep into the world of LLMs, GenAI, and applied AI. You’ll have full autonomy to make technical and product decisions, working directly with the founders no product managers or rigid processes.

ResponsibilitiesFull Stack Development

  • Design and build modern web applications with ReactJS and Node.js (TypeScript)
  • Work closely with the founders to define architecture, technical roadmap, and engineering culture
  • Ensure quality, security, and scalability from the very first commit
  • Automate CI / CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Docker, and DevOps best practices

AI / LLM Integration

  • Build autonomous agents and AI-powered features using LLMs, RAG, and GenAI
  • Integrate APIs like OpenAI, Claude, etc.
  • Work with frameworks like LangGraph or custom architectures
  • Create real-time data ingestion and transformation pipelines
  • Design integration protocols like Model Context Protocol (MCP)

    • Requirements

    Technical Experience

  • Advanced English is a must , both written and spoken. You’ll be working directly with international stakeholders and founders.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong full stack development background specially with Node.js, C#, Java, etc
  • Proficient in ReactJS, Node.js, TypeScript
  • Experience with Docker, and CI / CD

    • AI / LLM Experience

  • Recent transition into GenAI, LLMs, NLP, and RAG
  • Mastery of LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, etc.)
  • Experience with Python or TypeScript for AI applications
  • Ability to build smart integrations and data pipelines

    • Desirable

  • Previous experience in startups or high-autonomy environments (no PMs, testers, direct reporting to founders)
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and MVP validation

    • Role Description

    This is a full-time remote role for a Full Stack Software Engineer specializing in React, Node.js, and GenAI. The engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications, working on both front-end and back-end development tasks. Day-to-day tasks include coding, debugging, and collaborating with the engineering team to ensure high-quality software delivery. The engineer will also participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.

    Qualifications

  • Back-End Web Development skills, including Node.js
  • Front-End Development skills, including React
  • Full-Stack Development experience
  • Proficiency in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
  • Strong understanding of software development principles
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Experience with GenAI and AI-driven solutions is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
