Network Engineer (Generalist)

We are seeking a Network Engineer (Generalist) to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a versatile professional who can design, implement, and maintain network systems across a variety of environments. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity, optimizing performance, and supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and reliability.

Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.

Collaborate with system administrators and IT support teams to resolve technical challenges.

Document network configurations, procedures, and policies.

Evaluate new networking technologies and recommend improvements.

Provide support for network-related projects, upgrades, and migrations.

Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Strong knowledge of TCP / IP, routing, switching, and network protocols.

Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.

Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

Understanding of network security principles and best practices.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).

Knowledge of VoIP systems and network QoS.

Scripting or automation skills (Python, PowerShell, etc.).

Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent
