Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Data Engineer with strong expertise in data architecturedata engineering data analysis reporting and a basic understanding of data science techniques and workflows. They are an Agile learner possess strong problem-solving skills work as partof a technical cross functional analytics team and want to solve complex data problems and deliver the insights to enable analytics strategy. At Bunge you will be at the forefront ofleveraging data analytics and technology to feed and fuel the world in a better faster and simpler way. Data Engineer will work closely with a multidisciplinary Agile team to build high quality data pipelines driving analytic solutions. These solutions will generate insights from the organizationsconnected data enabling the organization to advance the data-driven decision-making capabilities of the organizations enterprise.

Essential Functions:

Main Accountabilities

• Design develop optimize and maintain dataarchitecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principlesand businessgoals
• Solve complex data problems to deliver insights thathelps the organizations business to achieve theirgoals
• Create data products for analytics and data scientistteam members to improve theirproductivity
• Advise other data andanalytic professionals on data standards andpractices
• Foster a culture of sharing re-use design for scalestability and operational efficiency of data andanalyticalsolutions
• Lead the evaluation implementation and deployment ofemerging tools and process for analytic dataengineeringin order toimprove the organizationsproductivity as ateam
• Partner with business analysts and solutions architectsto develop technical architectures for strategicenterprise projects andinitiatives.

• Has in-depth knowledge in optimizations and machine learning models. Adapts plans within the Department and recommends solutions/best practices.

• Applies acquired expertise to analyze and solve problems without clear precedent. Identifies applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to solve complex problems. Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process product or service improvements. Takes a new perspective on existing solutions.

Management/Leadership

• Manages projects/processes working independently with limited supervision. AND/OR provides leadership to professionals and/or support staff. Follow specific functional policy and broad procedure allowing the choice of tactics to reach the established goals.
• Leads technical discussion of data engineers of the same squad to ensure best solution implementation.

Knowledge and Technical Competencies

• Proficient in data science optimization machine learning Python R SQL data analysis analytical skills teamwork and communication skills.
• Can translate business needs into optimization components (e.g. Constraints penalties and objective function
• Develop business awareness of possible use cases and help them to understand the necessary concepts of data science and optimization to ensure better communication across functions.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Experience

• Post graduate degree in STEM field or Bachelor degree with 2-3 years experience as Data Engineer II
• Proficient in programming language like Python or R
• Expertise in SQL and data analysis and experience with at least one programming language (Python or Scala preferred)
• Experience developing and maintaining data warehouses in big datasolutions
• Experience with developing solutions on cloud computing services and infrastructure in the data and analytics space (preferred)
• Database development experience using Hadoop orBigQueryand experience with a variety of relational NoSQL and clouddatabasetechnologies
• Conceptual knowledge of data and analytics such as dimensional modeling ETL reporting tools data governance datawarehousing structured and unstructureddata.
• Big Data Development experience using Hive Impala or Spark
• Exposure to machine learning data science computer vision artificial intelligence statistics and/or appliedmathematics
• Passionate about Agile software processes data-driven development reliability and experimentation
• Experience working on a collaborative Agile product team
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and learning skills
• Flexibility to changes in work direction as the project develops
• Excellent communication listening and influencing skills
• Demonstrated strong number sense intellectually curious and willing to adjust position based on additional information
• Strong work ethic; ability to work at an abstract level and gain consensus
