Information Technology Support Technician
Overview :
We are looking for a skilled IT Support Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities :
- Basic knowledge of network devices such as switches, routers and wireless access points preferably CISCO, Riverbed.
- Assigning switch ports to specific VLANs.
- Patching phone ports to switch as needed.
- Troubleshooting Avaya VOIP phones with basic configuration knowledge.
- Resolving issues with fiber links between switches and visualizing errors to communicate with remote technical teams.
- Replacing network switch chassis blades when required.
- Understanding data center infrastructure management applications.
- Performing periodic checks on IDF rooms for cooling and power status including UPS alarms and PDU health.
- Basic knowledge of monitoring tools such as Solarwinds.
- Networking and operating system basics.
- Basic hardware knowledge including servers, storage devices.
- Interpreting monitoring tool outcomes.
- Basic ITSM tool knowledge preferably ServiceNow.
- Backup technologies knowledge preferably EMC Avamar.
- Operating systems knowledge - Windows 2003 servers Enterprise / Standard Edition, UNIX & linux.
- Windows 2003 Active Directory structure, MS Exchange 2003 and File / Print Server.
- Experience in SLA base environment.
- Server performance monitoring preferred.
