The Work You'll DoAt Sovos, we're looking for an exceptional Principal UX Designer to join our team as the strategic owner of our design system and design operations.

This is a unique individual contributor role for someone who thrives at the intersection of visual design excellence, systems thinking, and technical implementation, ready to set the standard for design across our entire organization.As the design system owner, you will be the cornerstone of design consistency and innovation across all our products.

You'll work at the forefront of design-to-code initiatives, establishing processes that transform how our design and development teams collaborate.

This role offers the rare opportunity to shape design culture, drive strategic decisions, and influence product experiences at scale, all while staying hands-on with the craft you love.More specifically, you will : Own and evolve our design system strategy, applying atomic design principles to create scalable, maintainable component libraries that serve as the foundation for all product experiencesDrive design system adoption and excellence by creating comprehensive documentation, establishing usage standards, and implementing quality assurance processes that ensure consistent, high-performing implementation across all teamsLead the design-to-code transformation by partnering with development leadership to establish seamless workflows from Figma to production, positioning our organization at the forefront of modern design operationsSet design standards and accountability measures by auditing design work, identifying improvement opportunities, and working with UX directors to ensure teams maintain the highest standards of component usage and design consistencyIdentify and integrate emerging design trends by staying current with industry patterns, evaluating new approaches, and strategically incorporating innovations that enhance our design system without disrupting established workflowsFacilitate cross-functional alignment by communicating complex design decisions clearly, training teams on new patterns, and ensuring successful rollout of design system updates across the organizationWhat We Need From You8+ years of experience in UX / product design with significant focus on design systems, component libraries, and design operations within enterprise SaaS environmentsProven design system ownership with experience managing atomic design principles, maintaining component libraries, and successfully rolling out system updates across multiple teamsStrong technical foundation including understanding of CSS, component frameworks (like Bootstrap), React concepts, library versioning, and design-to-code workflowsAn exceptional portfolio demonstrating design system work that shows both strategic thinking and meticulous execution, visual design excellence with keen attention to modern trends, clear documentation of complex design decisions, and examples of successful cross-functional collaborationExperience as a systems thinker who understands atomic design principles deeply and has successfully managed design systems at scaleWhat Does Sovos Offer You?
