ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Full Stack Developer , you’ll play a key role in modernizing a high-impact geospatial platform by helping transition from ArcGIS to an open-source stack. During this 3-month project, you’ll build end-to-end solutions that empower users with actionable environmental insights, while collaborating closely across backend and frontend teams to shape scalable, data-driven features.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Work on a 3-month project;
- Build and maintain frontend features for a geospatial platform using a modern JavaScript / TypeScript framework (React);
- Integrate complex REST APIs serving geospatial data, including GeoJSON features, map tiles, and image PNGs;
- Swap and configure basemap tile providers, such as OpenMapTiles , Mapbox, or Esri;
- Implement complete features including user authentication, data upload, and client-side state management for map interactions;
- Collaborate with the backend team on geospatial concepts such as BBOX, vector features, raster tiles, and projections.
MUST HAVES
5+ years of experience with .NET or Python;Expertise in a modern JavaScript / TypeScript framework ( React );Proven experience with frontend mapping libraries, especially Leaflet and / or Mapbox GL JS;Strong ability to consume and integrate complex REST APIs serving geospatial data (GeoJSON features, map tiles, and image PNGs);Experience swapping and configuring basemap tile providers (e.g., OpenMapTiles, Mapbox, Esri);Experience building complete features, including user authentication, data upload, and client-side state management for map interactions;A solid understanding of geospatial concepts (BBOX, vector features, raster tiles, projections);Upper-intermediate English level.NICE TO HAVES
Experience with cloud deployment and provisioning , specifically on Azure ;Previous experience migrating services away from an Esri / ArcGIS stack (ImageServer, FeatureServer);Knowledge of open-source basemap providers like OpenMapTiles or Planet OSM;Experience working with modern open-source geospatial stack components such as TiTiler, FastAPI, and COG;Ability to handle large-scale raster and vector data efficiently for live frontend applications;Experience with full backend data pipeline ownership, including database tuning, data conversion, API performance, and cloud infrastructure.PERKS AND BENEFITS
