These projects involve the development and roll-out of insurance products to protect financially underserved individuals against climate risks, as well as the management of all the stakeholders involved.
We are expanding our programs in Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, and Honduras, while working to replicate our success in Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil.About the RoleReporting to the Head of Latin America, the Market Development Manager – Brazil will drive Blue Marble's market entry and growth strategy in Brazil.
The role will focus on building partnerships, identifying opportunities, and laying the groundwork for future program implementation.
It requires a mix of strategic business development and hands-on engagement with local stakeholders.
The Market Development Manager will also collaborate closely with the regional team to support pilot initiatives, product roll-outs, and market expansion across Latin America.
Frequent travel within Brazil and across the region (up to 30% of the time) will be required.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage strategic partnerships with public and private sector organizations, including insurers, distributors, cooperatives, banks, and other stakeholders relevant to climate solutions.Design and execute business development plans aligned with Blue Marble's three-year strategy, including mapping prospective partners, identifying distribution opportunities, and pursuing new projects.Lead the preparation of proposals and presentations for prospective clients and partners, including responses to RFPs, targeted pitches, and business cases that align with donor or partner priorities.Evaluate and screen potential projects by analyzing partner needs, internal capabilities, and funding opportunities, ensuring alignment with business objectives and impact goals.Support market entry and product roll-out activities, including pilot initiatives, client onboarding, and coordination with the regional operations team.Represent Blue Marble in field engagements such as workshops, trainings, and stakeholder meetings with local partners, farmers' groups, and cooperatives to build trust and credibility.Monitor performance and document learnings, producing reports and insights that strengthen efficiency, compliance, and scalability across Brazil and the wider Latin America region.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Economics, Engineering, or related field.Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in insurance, brokerage, finance, agribusiness, or development projects.Project management skills, with ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.Fluency in Portuguese and English (Spanish is a plus).
