Reports to : Head of Fixed Income Trading
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fixed Income Trader to join our trading team in São Paulo. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Brazilian fixed income market, with hands-on experience trading BRL local currency bonds, dollar-denominated global bonds, DI Futures and FX. This individual will play a critical role in executing and managing trades, developing trading strategies, and monitoring macroeconomic developments that impact local and global bond markets.
Responsibilities
Execution & Trading
- Execute trading strategies across a range of BRL-denominated sovereign bonds, dollar-denominated global bonds, and associated FX positions
- Maintain real-time awareness of market flows, liquidity conditions, and pricing dynamics to ensure best execution
Strategy Development
Develop and implement short-term and medium-term trading strategies to capitalize on market dislocations and opportunitiesProvide market color and trade ideas to the broader investment team, leveraging local expertise and market relationshipsMarket Monitoring & Analysis
Continuously monitor local macroeconomic indicators, monetary policy announcements, fiscal developments, and geopolitical events that impact the Brazilian fixed income and FX marketsAnalyze credit risk, interest rate risk, and currency exposure to ensure alignment with overall portfolio objectives and risk appetiteRisk & Liquidity Management
Actively manage liquidity, funding costs, and overall risk exposures within approved limitsCoordinate with risk management and treasury teams to optimize balance sheet usage and funding strategiesMaintain a disciplined approach to position sizing, stop-loss adherence, and risk-reward assessmentsRelationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with local brokers, market makers, and counterparties to enhance market access and execution qualityRepresent the firm in local market discussions and contribute to building a strong franchise presence in the Brazilian marketQualifications & Requirements
Minimum 3 years of hands-on trading experience in BRL local currency bonds, dollar-denominated bonds, and FX marketsIn-depth knowledge of Brazilian macroeconomic and political landscape, central bank policy, and debt issuance dynamicsStrong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly interpret complex market data and translate it into actionable strategiesDemonstrated track record of risk management and P&L generation in volatile market environmentsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in both Portuguese and English preferredBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or CFA designation is a plusWhy Join Us?
