Job Description
The Senior Accounting Manager oversees the general ledger accounting function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial records. This role leads to month-end and year-end close processes, manages a team of accountants, and serves as a key liaison between finance and other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Close Leadership : Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate
- GL Reconciliation : Oversee comprehensive reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy of balances, timely resolution of discrepancies, and proper documentation of reconciliations according to company policies
- Cash Accounting & Treasury Support : Manage cash accounting activities including bank reconciliations, cash flow reporting, and supporting treasury functions related to cash positioning, investments, debt accounting, and foreign currency transactions
- Team Management : Lead, develop, and mentor a team of GL accountants; manage workload distribution and performance evaluations
- Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, implement automation, and enhance internal controls
- Variance analysis : Oversee the preparation of MoM and YoY variances and reports for internal stakeholders
- Audit Support : Coordinate with internal and external auditors, ensuring all required documentation is available and accurate
- Compliance : Ensure adherence to GAAP, SOX requirements, and company policies
- System Management : Serve as a key resource for GL modules within the ERP system; participate in system implementations and upgrades
- Intercompany Transactions : Oversee accounting, reconciliation and settlement of intercompany accounts
- Payroll Accounting : Record and reconcile payroll transactions, prepare related accruals, ensure tax compliance, and manage accounting for employee benefits and equity compensation
- Fixed Asset & Capitalized Labor Accounting : Oversee fixed asset accounting including acquisitions, transfers, disposals, depreciation, and impairment analyses; manage capitalization of internal labor costs according to accounting standards and company policy
- M&A Accounting : Support accounting for mergers and acquisitions, including purchase price allocations, goodwill calculations, integration of acquired entities' financial data, and post-acquisition accounting treatments
- Policy Development : Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Special Projects : Lead accounting-related projects and initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required10+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years in a management roleStrong knowledge of GAAP / IFRS and financial reporting requirementsExperience with month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparationUnderstanding of cash management, banking relationships, and treasury operationsKnowledge of fixed asset accounting, capitalization criteria, and depreciation methodologiesUnderstanding of M&A accounting, business combinations, and purchase accountingUnderstanding of payroll accounting principles and tax compliance requirementsProficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) and fixed asset modulesAdvanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting toolsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience in process improvement and automation initiativesBenefits

Benefits eligibility may differ depending on full-time or part-time status. Compensation depends on the applicable US geographic market. The expected base pay for this position ranges from $107,089 - $125,000 annually, and will be based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and education.
