Senior Software Engineer in Test

We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Test at XILO , a fast-growing AI-driven startup transforming the insurance industry. With 200+ clients, growing data, and fresh Series A funding, we’re scaling quickly — and we’re looking for someone to help us ensure quality and reliability at every step.

The Role :

You’ll lead the charge in shaping and scaling our test automation strategy , with a focus on end-to-end testing using Playwright and TypeScript. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to define best practices, build test coverage for new and existing features, and make testing a first-class citizen in our development lifecycle.

This is not a passive testing role — you’ll be embedded in sprint planning and start writing tests before the features are even built , anticipating behavior, aligning with developers, and enabling test-first workflows. While your main focus will be automation, you’ll also support high-priority manual validation when needed.

You’ll take ownership of :

• Designing, maintaining, and improving our Playwright-based E2E test suites
• Writing test coverage for cross-service platform workflows and domain-specific modules
• Defining testing standards, tooling, and patterns used across all teams
• Partnering with developers during sprint planning to prepare test coverage in advance
• Leading CI / CD test integration and improving overall test stability and performance
• Supporting critical release testing and mentoring engineers on writing integration / unit tests
