Juan Felipe Ruiz Zuluaga named General Manager Sto Corp., South America

Sto Corp. announced that Juan Felipe Ruiz Zuluaga has been named General Manager, South America following the promotion of his predecessor Jose R. Berlingeri to the role of President and Chief Executive Officer, Sto Americas. The move was effective March 2, 2020.

Mr. Ruiz Zuluaga comes to the role well positioned to succeed with an abundance of management experience in related industries in North, Central and South America.

“Juan has successfully opened new markets and led product development and innovation initiatives in his previous positions,” said Robert Lanier, Vice President, Human Resources, Sto Americas. “He’s the ideal person to build on what Jose started in South America.”

In his new position Mr. Ruiz Zuluaga is responsible for all subsidiaries and business operations that are established in the South American region. He will be tasked with maintaining short- and long-term profitability of South America while developing new markets.

With advanced degrees in engineering and business, Mr. Ruiz Zuluaga’s educational background adds to his qualifications. He has earned an engineering degree from Eafit University in Colombia, a Master’s of Science in Engineering and Energy Technology from University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven in Germany, and an MBA International Executive in Marketing from FGV Fundación Getulio Vargas in Brazil and the University of California in the USA.

Mr. Ruiz Zuluaga is based out of Sto Brazil in São Paulo, and will report directly to Sto Corp. President and Chief Executive Officer Jose R. Berlingeri.
