Job Description
Negotiate, review and draft simple to complex business and commercial contracts, license agreements, settlements and NDA's;Ensures that contracts are in compliance with legal, regulatory and organization policies;Monitors the contract process to assure compliance with the organization's contractual guidelines and adherence to organization policy;May act as a contract liaison between the organization and vendor, including participation in precontract discussions, contract negotiations and contract changes;Assesses commercial risks of contracts;In house liaison to outside counsel;Assist other functions in resolving legal matters, including providing general legal advice and interpreting contracts;Perform other general legal work as assigned including legal research and compliance verification;Point of contact for the global legal team as it pertains to local legal matters, excluding procurement, store construction & expansion matters;Manage and oversee Regulatory Compliance department;Provide legal advice for a wide range of regulatory product matters;Drafts and prepares certain policies and regulatory reporting;Act as a liaison between the organization and outside counsel including participation in recalls and litigation;Financial Accountability : Ensuring legal fees are controlled;May perform other activities related to the positionThe Successful Applicant
College degree from an accredited law school;5-8 years experience in house, law firm, governmental agency and or self regulatory organization experience;Can state facts, law and legal arguments clearly and logically in written and oral form;Excellent drafting and effective negotiation skills. Needs to be a business person as much as an attorney;Efficient, ability to prioritize workload and multi task with constant regard for accuracy and attention to detail;Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including senior management;Ability to clearly and concisely communicate legal matters to now lawyers;Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team;Solid project management skills;Ability to work in a fast paced environment.What's On Offer
