As the first data hire within the organization, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating with a third-party systems integrator. You will report directly to the COO and work cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and local team General Managers. This is a compelling opportunity for a data professional who is excited to build from the ground up, take on diverse responsibilities in a startup environment, and apply their expertise in the sports industry.
Key Responsibilities :
Design, implement, and manage the company’s data infrastructure, including pipelines, ETL, and data warehouse (Google BigQuery).
Build and maintain a customer data stack leveraging composable CDP, ETL, reverse ETL, fan journey tools (e.g., Braze, Iterable, Attentive) and modeling tools (e.g., Python).
Integrate data across ticketing systems, concessions and merchandising POS systems, CRM, BI platforms, and ETL tools to create a single source of truth for fan and business data.
Leverage AI tools for tech stack development, maintenance, and sales / marketing analysis.
Collaborate with local and centralized business teams to identify data-driven opportunities that improve fan engagement and revenue growth.
Work with third-party systems integrators while independently owning day-to-day data operations.
Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all systems.
Contribute to the evaluation of future tools and modeling capabilities.
Qualifications & Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
5–8 years of hands-on data engineering experience, ideally in a high-growth or startup environment.
Proficiency with Google BigQuery and experience with modern data stack tools (ETL, BI, CDP, reverse ETL).
Familiarity with CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot), BI platforms (Looker, Tableau, Metabase), and tools like Fivetran, dbt, Hightouch, Iterable, or Braze.
Strong SQL skills; Python experience is a plus.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and operate independently.
Strong communicator to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Background in sports is preferred but not required.
What We Offer :
Two weeks of paid vacation per year.
10 paid days for local holidays.
Career development and growth opportunities in a dynamic startup environment.
A unique opportunity to build data infrastructure from the ground up and have a direct impact on fan experience and revenue growth.
Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and flexible work culture.
