We are looking for a pragmatic and proactive Field Surveyor who is passionate about nature and outdoor work!
This role involves worldwide data collection and training delivery at project sites across the globe.
The position is offered as a 6 to 12-month fixed contract, with potential for extension.Responsibilities : Monitor and collect biodiversity data from project sites using various technologies, from drones to audio equipment.Work directly with IPLCs to successfully deliver local data collection.Ensure data is collected consistently and according to project parameters.Research specific geographic locations to understand logistical and operational requirements, identifying potential obstacles and collaborating with the science team to find solutions.Develop and deliver training programs to local field technicians and land stewards worldwide, including ongoing refinement and improvement of training materials and systems.Qualifications : Experience working remotely and independently in the field, such as conservation or ecology projects.Technological savviness to handle various technologies and adapt quickly to new tools.Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including to remote areas, sometimes on short notice.Problem-solving skills to act swiftly and find solutions in challenging field conditions.Valid driving license for travel to project sites.Humility and a proactive attitude towards learning and adapting.Passion for environmental conservation and technology's role in supporting it.Conscientiousness and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse communities.Transparency and accountability in managing equipment and technology in challenging environments.What we offer : Opportunities to travel globally and work on impactful projects across Africa, South America, and Asia.Be part of developing a new discipline that unlocks value from nature.Competitive industry compensation.Autonomy and a culture of trust.A fun, diverse, and driven team.Remote-first company with opportunities for in-person meetings.We offer a market-led salary range of €2,000-2,500 per month (or equivalent), depending on location and experience.
