We employ over 2,500 people globally and maintain a startup mindset.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a passionate and experienced Staff Engineer to co-lead modernization efforts, drive innovation, and play a key role in our product evolution.
You will focus on cloud technologies, legacy system migrations, and microservices to modernize architecture and support Feegow and Docplanner Group growth.Role As a Staff Engineer, you will lead impactful and complex cross-group technical initiatives, ensuring high-quality solutions and operational standards.
You will partner with Engineering Managers and other leaders to shape the technical direction.
The role reports to the Engineering Director.
This position emphasizes hands-on technical work, with strong communication and influence skills.Our tech stack includes .
NET, PHP, Vue / React, running on Kubernetes in AWS.
Expertise in these technologies is not required, but a strong technical foundation and ability to influence decisions are essential.What you will be doingLead and drive technical initiatives that impact area-level directions (approximately 5 teams).
Partner with Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and area / company leaders to develop an effective technical strategy.Maintain accountability for all technical initiatives you lead.Serve as a point of reference for Engineering teams.Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching inside the team.QualificationsYou're likely a great fit if you : Have a solid technical background across SDLC principles and practices (Agile / CD, Lean, SRE, DevOps) and can support and unblock engineering teams in complex discussions.Have legacy software modernization and migration experience to modern architectures.Approach software development with a lean, proactive, and positive mindset, balancing impact and sustainable development with accountability for quality.Have strong backend experience with a holistic understanding of full-stack systems.Experience driving cross-team initiatives and creating buy-in for technical initiatives.Believe in continuous learning and improvement.Have experience guiding and mentoring less experienced engineers.Also Relevant for the role : Domain-Driven Design.Expertise in AWS to shape cloud infrastructure.Ability to oversee MySQL database optimizations for scalable solutions.Cloud-native architectures using microservices and serverless patterns, including synchronous and asynchronous communication, data streaming, and API lifecycle management.Advanced English skills for written and verbal communication across global teams.Previous consulting experience is a plus.Important : Docplanner is an international English-first company.
