The successful candidate will : Have a passion for web design and extensive knowledge of how websites workHave an eye for aesthetics and attention to details when designing web pagesCollaborate with project managers and developers to create web pages that are balanced in both beauty and functionProduce highly functional, creative, and exceptional websites following the latest UI / UX trends and best practicesCreate email-ready marketing materials and occasionally print materialsManage tight deadlines and high-volume workloadREQUIREMENTS : Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JSON, JavaScript and jQuery without the need for WYSIWYG editorsExperience with strategic design of both static (HTML) and dynamic (database-driven) websitesStrong grasp of the latest User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design principlesExperience publishing, customizing and maintaining WordPress websites and its underlying technologies (PHP & MySQL)Experience developing web pages with SEO in mind, including optimizing for performance and accessibilityWorking knowledge of REST APIs to exchange information with different backend systems and integrate third-party services or content into the designExperience creating mobile interfaces using responsive web designStrong knowledge and experience creating web graphics and layouts with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or similar high-end graphics softwareSkilled at developing materials for the web, for email, and for printFamiliarity with Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, Bing Webmaster Tools & other performance / metrics / management platformsKnowledge of ASP.NET / MVC / Razor / BootstrapPlus : Knowledge of Shopify E-Commerce platform, including its Liquid scripting languageQUALIFICATIONS : College degree in graphic design, electronic media, web design, or related degreeProfessional web design experiences.Engagement type : Independent contractor (service agreement).
