What are we looking for?

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to design, develop, and lead the delivery of enterprise-grade data integration and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle performance tuning and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), combined with strong leadership and communication skills. In this role, you will lead technical decision-making, mentor team members, and collaborate with DBAs and business stakeholders to deliver high-performance, scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize query and database performance to meet strict SLAs (
  • Analyze execution plans and recommend indexing, partitioning, and optimization strategies.
  • Partner with DBAs to validate and implement tuning recommendations.
  • Oversee ETL / ELT workflows, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and data quality.
  • Leverage AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, DMS) for ingestion, transformation, and storage.
  • Lead and mentor the team, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Translate technical decisions into clear explanations for both technical and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering within enterprise-scale environments.
  • Expertise in Oracle performance tuning, including query optimization, execution plans, indexes, partitioning, and parallelism.
  • Hands-on experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
  • Expertise in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
  • Experience in data warehouse design, ETL / ELT processes, and data modeling.
  • Proven leadership experience, including team mentoring and technical guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with DBAs, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, DMS).
  • Prior experience in Wealth Management.
  • Location : Remote (preferably based in São Leopoldo / RS or Porto Alegre / RS region)
