Job Title : Smartsheet Solution Architect

Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and certified Smartsheet Solution Architect & PMO Leader to drive the strategic design, implementation, and optimization of our work management and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solutions. This is a critical leadership role for an individual who not only understands Smartsheet at an architectural level but can also establish and mature enterprise-wide Project Management Office (PMO) standards and capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design and user experience, able to provide expert guidance on sheet layout, structure, and visual presentation to ensure optimal usability and engagement.Key Responsibilities
Smartsheet Architecture & Development
- Design and Architect Solutions : Lead the end-to-end architectural design and development of complex, integrated Smartsheet solutions, including utilizing premium applications like Control Center, Resource Management, and Dynamic View, to meet Gordian's strategic business needs.
- Platform Optimization : Act as the Smartsheet expert and Administrator , continuously optimizing the platform for performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Governance and Standards : Establish and enforce Smartsheet governance, best practices, and standardization for dashboards, reporting, automation, and data integrity across the organization.
- Stakeholder Mobilization : Introduce and drive adoption of the Smartsheet platform and its capabilities across all levels of company leadership.
- Design Excellence : Provide expert consultation on the visual design and structural layout of sheets , dashboards, and reports, ensuring they are intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with user experience best practices. Project & Program Management Office (PMO) Leadership
- PMO Implementation : Establish, lead, and mature the PMO function —defining, documenting, and implementing project management standards, best practices, and procedures (PMP methodologies).
- PPM Tool Implementation : Establish and lead the use of Smartsheetas the primary PPM tool for enterprise-wide intake, demand, and resource management, portfolio management, and real-time status reporting.
- Strategic Alignment : Charter and lead executive-level bodies, such as a Steering Committee or Project Review Board (PRB), to ensure project and program portfolios are aligned with strategic goals and organizational objectives.
- Process Improvement : Drive measurable improvements in project delivery metrics, such as increasing on-time completion rates and enhancing strategic focus through effective prioritization methods.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
Progressive leadership experience in Project Management, Program Management, and / or PMO Director roles.Expert-level experience in Smartsheet development, configuration, and administration, with a proven track record of implementing the platform in multiple corporate environments.Demonstrated experience in establishing, leading, and maturing a corporate PMO from the ground up, including hiring and managing a team of Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Scrum Masters.Experience managing multiple project portfolios (e.g., infrastructure, application development) valued over $10M each and managing over 300 concurrent projects.Experience in change management and successfully integrating new processes and teams following acquisitions or mergers.Design sensibility and UX expertise with the ability to evaluate and provide constructive feedback on sheet design, layout optimization, color schemes, formatting, and overall visual presentation to enhance usability and user adoption.Certifications
