We are seeking a dedicated web architect to design and build the next generation of web applications.Your MissionDigital Farming Solutions at Bayer is seeking a Principal Web Engineer to join our Enterprise Architecture team.
You will guide the architecture and design of the Climate FieldView Platform and be accountable for the design and technical stewardship of current and next-generation web applications and related integrations.
You will drive the web architecture to enable multiple experiences for growers, dealers, and internal customers to support our vision.
This role offers the opportunity to work with widely used farming software tools and contribute to sustainable agricultural productivity.Responsibilities Own and guide the architecture of web applications within the FieldView Web and DFS ecosystem.
Collaborate with Product, UI / UX and Web engineers to deliver integrated experiences.
Design well-factored, extensible, and performant web applications aligned with the broader software ecosystem.
Build user-focused, secure, and resilient interfaces with attention to performance and reliability.
Produce clear system specifications and review others' code constructively.
Drive front-end architecture and collaborate with the DFS Enterprise Architecture team and Global Principal Engineers.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to overall skill development and quality improvement.
Manage ambiguity effectively and maintain alignment with business goals.QualificationsRobust software development experience.Experience designing, architecting, and deploying large-scale web applications.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Experience with modern JavaScript-based tools (React is used; others like Vue / Angular acceptable).
Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern CSS.Experience with version control (git) and building / maintaining CI / CD pipelines for web applications.Experience building and debugging apps on modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, mobile).
Server-side JavaScript (Node.js) and GraphQL experience.Interest in working in a team that values testing.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.Fluency in Portuguese and English is required for working in a global team.Willingness to be based in São Paulo, with some weekly office days expected.Nice to HaveExperience with ES6+ features, Promises, and performance tuning of JavaScript / browser apps.Experience designing single-page applications and collaborating with Product and Design to ship features.Experience with micro frontends, React Native, testing frameworks (Cypress, Jest), and accessibility.Experience with cross-skill architecture teams and driving architectural vision beyond the web app.What Else You'll Find HereBenefits focus on integrated health, financial well-being, and life balance.
