Working closely with legal colleagues who support PayPal in more than 200 markets around the world, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal and regulatory support to business leaders and other internal clients, especially in the context of payment services in Brazil.

- Provide legal advice and support to PayPal Brazil's business leaders and other internal clients on relevant payment / financial laws and regulations, existing client relationships, business development activities, marketing initiatives, and development and launch of new products and services.
- Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
- Develop holistic understanding of various initiatives to identify and issue spot potential gaps across the enterprise.
In doing so, build relationships and collaborate with various organizations across PayPal, including the Sales / Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Finance, Treasury and Compliance teams.
Analyze new initiatives to help ensure activities align with the PayPal User Agreement, PayPal Acceptable Use Policy, payments regulations, applicable card network, as well as financial partner commitments.Collaborate with Compliance colleagues to develop, enhance and implement the initiatives in a manner that is consistent with PayPal's policies and risk frameworks.Advise on new and emerging legal and regulatory developments impacting PayPal Brazil, including identifying trends and potential impacts on business activities.Collaborate and coordinate with government relations teams to proactively monitor and review legislation in order to help ensure accurate and up-to-date inventories of all legal obligations.Demonstrable payments skills and expertise, with an emphasis on card network schemes and related payments / financial regulations.Identifying productivity improvements and helping to drive and direct process changes to ensure continuing efficiency.Familiarity with, and strong interest in, financial services technology, mobile and alternative payments, as well as emerging technology.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Ability to translate legal advice into actionable policies, processes and programs that enable business objectives.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, to effectively coach and mentor others (including non-attorneys).Experience practicing either in-house (preferably at a global corporation) or at a reputable law firm, with experience in payment / financial services.Law degree with strong academic credentials and admitted to practice law in Brazil.Exceptional writing skills, with attention to detail and ability to generate creative original drafted documents.Outstanding English speaking and writing skills (Spanish a plus).Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate and help non-experts understand applicable regulations and requirements.Experience advising clients in the payment / financial services, internet and technology industries preferred.Our Benefits :
