VMware Engineer (Remote – EST Hours)

Schedule : 40h / week

Our client is looking for an experiencedVMware Engineerwith strong hands-on expertise in virtualization, networking, storage, and system integration.

This professional will support a large-scale VMware environment, ensuring reliability, performance, and seamless operations across clusters, VSAN, and related technologies.

The ideal candidate has solid experience managing VMware ESXi and vCenter environments, performing updates, troubleshooting network configurations at the hypervisor level, and working with advanced VMware products in enterprise-scale data centers.Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain VMware clusters, includingVDSandvSAN(minimum 2 years of vSAN experience).

Perform upgrades and updates onESXi hostsandvCenter Servers .

Diagnose and resolve issues related to networking at the hypervisor level, including VLANs, trunks, and VM network assignments.

Support and maintain medium-to-large scaleVMware ESX / ESXi environments (5.0+).

Administer and troubleshoot VMware features such asHA, FT, DRS, Storage DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion .

Work with additional VMware components including :

SRM (6.0, 6.5, 8.2, 8.3)

vSphere Replication (8.2, 8.3)

VMware HCX 3.5.3

vCenter Update Manager

SSO, PSC controllers, NSX-V, NSX-T 2.5.1

Implement and maintain Active Directory integrations within vCenter.

Support system integration, storage connectivity, replication, and engineering of critical infrastructure components.Required Qualifications

5+ yearsof hands-on experience with VMware ESX / ESXi in enterprise environments.

Strong experience with vSAN (mandatory).

Expertise in VMware cluster management, VDS, storage, and virtualization best practices.

Experience administering VMware versions3.5 through 6.7 .

Knowledge in updating ESXi hosts, vCenter, and VMware components.

Solid understanding of network configuration at the hypervisor level (VLANs, trunks, virtual networks, troubleshooting).

Experience with VMware replication, SRM, and HCX migrations.

Basic knowledge ofActive Directoryand how to integrate / implement in vCenter environments.

Experience supporting virtualization in medium to large data center environments.Nice to Have

Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V in production.

Familiarity with scripting or automation (PowerCLI, Python, etc.).

Exposure to storage arrays, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning.Work Environment

Remote role aligned toEST business hours (8 : 30 AM–5 : 30 PM) .

Includeson-call rotationfor critical support needs.
