Senior Software Engineer – M365 – Microsoft 365 Team

We are hiring multiple Senior Software Engineers to join the Microsoft 365 team.

These remote positions allow you to work from home.

The Microsoft 365 team is building the fastest-growing cloud services at Microsoft, powering communication, sharing, search, and intelligent assistance.

We maintain high reliability and availability, strong privacy and compliance, and millisecond-level latency.

Responsibilities

Drive projects through to delivery, removing obstacles to ensure success.

Contribute to design of large-scale distributed software services.

Write clean, well-tested code.

Champion and improve team software engineering practices.

Mentor junior engineers.

Collaborate with related teams to achieve goals.

Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to onboarding documentation.

Participate in on-call rotation to monitor service health and manage incidents.

Qualifications

Main Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering OR equivalent experience.

At least 5 years of experience in software design and backend service development.

5+ years of hands-on experience in an object-oriented language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, or equivalent experience with C.

Global collaboration integral; proficiency in English essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Ability to communicate technical details clearly.

Experience in DevOps for live services or application frameworks.

Cloud services experience; Azure experience highly desirable.

Strong analytical skills and structured approach to software design.

Passion for building reliable, well-tested services.

Experience with Agile and iterative development processes.
