Asenium is seeking a highly skilled Senior Kotlin Backend Engineer to join our client’s global data engineering team.

Location : Brazil (Mandatory location, 100% Remote)

Contract : 6 months (Freelance)

Start Date : ASAP

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop scalable backend components in Kotlin with a strong focus on performance and maintainability.
  • Design and integrate APIs , including OpenAPI and webhooks.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Product, UI, and Engineering.
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical best practices and guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and debug backend systems, ensuring high reliability.
  • Write and maintain clean, well-documented code and unit tests.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Must-Have Skills :

  • 5+ years of backend development experience, with strong Kotlin proficiency .
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable APIs.
  • Advanced understanding of SQL and database fundamentals.
  • Experience with CI / CD pipelines , DevOps, and automation.
  • Solid grasp of asynchronous programming (e.g., Kotlin Coroutines).
  • Fluent English communication skills (written & spoken).

    • Nice to Have :

  • Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) .
  • Familiarity with data streaming tools such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark-Streaming .
